2. Project Deposits and Payment Structure
In keeping with industry standards and my transparent business model:
- Projects require a non-refundable deposit (typically 50% of the total project fee) before work commences
- This deposit secures your place in my work schedule and covers initial project setup, planning, and resource allocation
- Milestone payments are tied to specific deliverables and project phases
- Final payment is due prior to the transfer of completed files, code, or site launch
3. Cancellation by Client
If you wish to cancel a project after work has begun:
- The initial deposit is non-refundable
- Any milestone payments made for completed work are non-refundable
- You will be invoiced for any unbilled work completed up to the cancellation date
- Written notice of cancellation is required via email
- Upon cancellation and final payment, you'll receive all completed work to date
4. Proactive Communication About Delays
In alignment with my principle of proactive communication:
- If I anticipate any delay in project timelines, I will notify you immediately
- We will work together to adjust timelines and expectations
- I build buffer time into all project estimates to minimize the risk of delays
- For client-caused delays, I maintain transparent communication about how these affect the project timeline
5. Project Completion and Acceptance
Upon project completion:
- You will have a designated review period (typically 7-14 days) to request revisions within the original project scope
- Clear criteria for project completion will be established at the beginning of our engagement
- The project is considered accepted after your final approval or after the review period ends without feedback
- Final payment is due upon acceptance
6. Refund Eligibility
Full or partial refunds may be considered in these specific circumstances:
- If I am unable to deliver the agreed-upon deliverables due to technical limitations discovered after project commencement
- If I fail to meet contractual obligations or project specifications after reasonable opportunity to remedy
- If I am unable to complete the project due to circumstances on my end
7. Refund Process
To request a refund:
- Submit your request in writing to [email protected]
- Include your project details, reason for the refund request, and supporting documentation
- Refund requests will be reviewed on a case-by-case basis
- If approved, refunds will be processed using the original payment method within 14 business days
8. Cancellation by Developer
In rare circumstances, I may need to cancel a project if:
- Project requirements change significantly from the original scope
- There is a breach of the service agreement or terms and conditions
- Communication is consistently delayed, making it impossible to progress with the project
- Required materials or information are not provided within agreed timeframes
In such cases, you will be invoiced only for work completed to date, and I will provide all completed deliverables.
9. Maintenance and Support Services
For ongoing maintenance or support services:
- Monthly or recurring services require 14 days' written notice for cancellation
- Pre-paid packages are non-refundable but remain available for use for 12 months from purchase
- Unused hours from monthly maintenance packages do not roll over unless specified in your service agreement
10. Dispute Resolution
In alignment with my "Direct But Kind" principle:
- I commit to addressing any disputes professionally and transparently
- I will work with you in good faith to resolve any issues
- If we cannot reach an agreement, we may engage a mutually agreed-upon mediator
